Stéphane Aebischer
Logistics coordinatorStéphane holds a BA in Biology from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and an MS in Geographical Sciences (isotopic studies of lake sediments in subarctic regions) from the University Laval, Canada. Stéphane has taken part in several research expeditions on large and small research vessels in Antarctica and the Arctic. Before joining the Forel Heritage Association, Stéphane worked as a biologist with the wildlife management department of Nord-du-Québec, Canada.
Baptiste Régnier
Captain and maritime coordinatorBaptiste Régnier holds a Captain 3000 diploma and worked on the research sailboat Tara from 2008 to 2013, holding various positions before becoming the second captain on the Tara Oceans Polar Circle mission. In 2015, he was the captain for the Pole Project expedition on the sailing vessel ATKA, in Greenland. In 2018 and 2019, he captained the Antwerp Flyer, a 28-m charter yacht that sailed from Northern Norway to Spitsbergen. In 2022, he will return to Tara, this time as captain. Baptiste is no stranger to polar expeditions.
Jean-François Ricci
Administrative coordinatorJean-François holds a degree in civil engineering from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and is passionate about science, technology, and innovation. Jean-François was a member of the management team of the EPFL for 16 years, as the General Secretary. He is currently the General Secretary of the Swiss Polar Foundation.
