Stéphane Aebischer

General Manager

Holder of a Bachelor's degree (BA) in Biology from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Master's degree (MS) in Geographical Sciences (isotopic studies of lake sediments in subarctic regions) from Laval University, Canada. Stéphane has participated in several research expeditions aboard both large and small research vessels in Antarctica and the Arctic. Before joining the Forel Heritage Association, Stéphane worked as a biologist for the Wildlife Management Directorate of Northern Quebec, Canada.

Baptiste Régnier

Captain and Maritime Coordinator

Holder of a 3000-ton captain's license, he worked aboard the research sailboat Tara from 2008 to 2013, holding various positions, eventually serving as second captain, particularly during the Tara Oceans Polar Circle mission. In 2015, he was captain for the Pole Project expedition aboard the ATKA sailboat in Greenland. In 2018 and 2019, he captained the Antwerp Flyer, a 28-meter charter sailboat that sailed in northern Norway and Svalbard. In 2022, he returned to sail aboard Tara, this time as captain. Baptiste is therefore a seasoned veteran of polar expeditions.

Jean-François Ricci

Administrative Coordinator

Trained as a civil engineer at EPFL and passionate about science, technology, and innovation, Jean-François was a member of the management team at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) for 16 years, serving as the Secretary General. He is currently the Secretary General of the Swiss Polar Foundation.

Anne-Claire Bihan-Poudec

Educational Coordinator and Media Officer

Anne-Claire is a research engineer in oceanography and specializes in the scientific communication of polar environments. Passionate about science and the dissemination of knowledge, she works within the Forel Heritage Association as the Educational Coordinator and Media Officer. She is particularly committed to promoting polar sciences to youth, the general public, and indigenous communities, with a strong focus on education and raising awareness about environmental issues.
